With its pretty flower gardens and typical farmhouses, Petting, on the southeast of Waginger See, embodies a little piece of Bavarian serenity and composure. In the Schönramer Filz, this unique landscape of moors and heath, families and nature lovers are able to explore history as well as a world of rare animal and plants along clearly marked hiking paths.
For your refreshment after or during a tour of the countryside, you are always welcome to stop by the beer garden run by the Schönram Brewery, where they also serve a selection of delicious foods. With its mountain views, beautiful sunbathing areas and Seerestaurant Wagner, famous for its picturesque sunsets, idyllically situated Kühnhausen swimming beach invites you to take a refreshing dip in Waginger See. At Salzachinsel swimming beach in Musbach, dog lovers can even take their four-legged friends with them into the water. Petting is also one of the biggest archaeological sites for artifacts from the Bajuwarii era, with some 710 graves found to-date.
