That said, now it’s time to pull out the pots and pans. It doesn’t take long before everybody is busily chopping and peeling, weighing, stirring and frying. The first mouthwatering smells of fresh Hokkaido pumpkin sautéed with curry and chili rise from the skillet. Add a little honey, garlic and vinegar and – hey presto – next come the lentils, bell peppers, walnuts and more, all stirred together.
